RealmHunt is an augmented-reality treasure hunt game published by Nathan Liang, an individual developer. This policy explains what information we collect when you use the app, why, and what choices you have.

Account information. You can create an account with email/password, or sign in with Google, Apple, or Game Center. Signing in with Google or Apple shares your email address (or, if you choose Apple's "Hide My Email" option, a private relay address that forwards to you) and the display name you choose — we never receive your password for any of these. Signing in with Game Center shares your Game Center player identity, which our server verifies directly with Apple; we don't receive your Apple ID or password. You can also play as a guest — an anonymous account with no email or personal information, just a fun display name you pick — whether jumping in solo or joining a one-off group hunt via Party Kit. A guest account can later be linked to a Google, Apple, or email/password identity from Settings, so progress isn't lost if the app is reinstalled or you switch devices.
Precise location. RealmHunt is a location-based game — we collect your device's GPS location while you're playing to show you nearby treasures, place them realistically in AR, and track your progress through a hunt. Location is only collected while the app is in use, not in the background.
Camera. AR mode uses your camera to overlay treasure items on your live surroundings. This is a real-time passthrough only — RealmHunt does not record, store, or transmit your camera feed. Some features let you save or share an AR screenshot; that only happens if you explicitly choose to.
Gameplay data. Progress, level, in-game currency, items, pets, and hunt history, tied to your account so it persists across sessions and devices.
Friends and social features. If you add friends in-app, we store that connection so features like live proximity alerts and item trading work. We never share your precise location with a friend — only relative distance ("Sam is 200m from a treasure you haven't found").
Push notification token. If you allow notifications, we store a device token (from Apple) to send you gameplay alerts (e.g. a live event starting). No content of notifications is shared with anyone outside RealmHunt.
Purchases. In-app purchases and subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple through StoreKit. We never see or store your payment card details — Apple handles that relationship directly, and we only receive confirmation that a purchase succeeded.
Crash and error reports. If the app crashes or hits an unexpected error, we automatically send a basic technical report (what happened, app/OS version, device model) to help us fix bugs. This is not tied to your name — only your account ID, if you were signed in at the time.
Diagnostic device info. App version, OS version, and device model may be included with crash/error reports and support requests to help us reproduce problems.
RealmHunt's Family Mode lets a parent link a child's account to their own and organize hunts together. This is the only way a child's location is ever collected in the app, and it requires the parent to actively link the account first (via a 6-digit code shown only in the parent's own app) — this linking step is our verifiable parental consent mechanism.

We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for targeted advertising — RealmHunt has no ad or ad-analytics SDK in the app at all.
We do not share your data with data brokers or advertisers, and we do not sell it to any third party.
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your profile and personal data are removed immediately; see Account Deletion above for what's retained in anonymized form.
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) between the app and our servers and token-based authentication. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.
We may update this policy as the app changes. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated "Last updated" date; continued use of the app after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
